Best Infrared Sauna Blanket and Sauna Blanket Benefits
As owner of Beautiful Laser Center in Texas for 15 years, I offered Infrared Sauna services for about a year. What I found was that this is an amazing tool for health, BUT you really need one at home.
It feels so good and has so many health benefits, you’ll want to use it almost every day or at least 3 times a week, if possible. You’ll also want to be able to shower or towel off afterward. So, it’s easier—and more affordable—if you own it.
The second thing I learned was that actual infrared saunas are not very comfortable. The benches are made of hard wood and 30-45 minutes sitting on them was tough. What I (and my laser clients) liked better is the convenience and luxurious comfort of lying in our own bed and experiencing the sauna blanket and healing infrared rays whenever we choose!
Health and Wellness Benefits
-Weight loss
Burn up to 300-600 calories per session. Infrared sauna blankets can help you to lose weight as the infrared energy penetrates deep into the tissue and helps the body to rid itself of toxins, burn calories, and increase your metabolism. When used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise program, infrared sauna blankets can help to speed up weight loss.
This is a great passive option for people who don’t like to exercise and the best part is that you can use it at home, so there’s no need for a gym membership.
-Heart Health Improvement
When your body starts to sweat—mimicking a workout—blood vessels widen and your blood flow is increased, which elevates your heart rate. Science shows evidence that infrared sauna blankets may cause your body to respond similarly to walking at a moderate pace and so can help reduce blood pressure and improve heart health to hopefully lengthen your wonderful life.

Pros:-Pain relief
In an NIH study on the effects of thermal therapy on chronic pain, researchers found one of the therapeutic benefits of infrared saunas to be relief from pain, including chronic pain, as well as relief from conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, and even migraines.
-Sore Muscles
Muscle recovery has become a popular topic in the fitness industry, as athletes and bodybuilders are always looking for ways to speed up the process. Infrared heat penetrates deep into the muscle tissue, which helps to remove metabolic waste and improve joint health.
An infrared sauna blanket increases blood flow and circulation which helps to shuttle nutrients and oxygen to the muscles. This can help to reduce inflammation and soreness, as well as promote healing. Additionally, infrared heat can help to loosen up tight muscles and joints, which can also help with recovery and improved athletic performance with ongoing use.

-Prevent Illness
Saunas help you avoid the flu, colds, and other illnesses by reducing oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is also associated with cancer, heart disease, dementia, and other diseases.
-Detoxification
Detoxing with infrared sauna blankets is a popular way to cleanse the body of toxins. The blankets emit infrared radiation, which helps the body to sweat out toxins. This is a safe and healthy way to detox and can be done daily with no negative effects. (Always check with your doctor before using a sauna of any type, especially if you have medical conditions.)
-Relaxation and Mood Enhancement
Saunas are a great place to get a little “me-time”. It’s therapy for not just the body, but for the mind (get away from the world, negativity, and your electronics) and your spirit. The warmth and the self-love can lessen depression, stress, and anxiety. Use the time alone to meditate and feel gratitude. Imagine yourself carefree on a tropical island. Blue water, white sand. If a negative thought comes up, just picture it swept away on an ocean wave.
-Sleep
A global survey from Science Direct showed participants (from multiple countries, including the US, Australia, and Finland) experienced improved sleep and reported benefits of mental well-being, and relatively few adverse effects.
We recommend adding the all-natural relaxium to your nightly routine as well as a grounding mat on your bed. The combination of sauna, grounding, and relaxium has been literally life-changing in the sleep department for me personally and for hundreds of my laser center clients, family, and friends. I recommend it to everyone.
-Skin Health
The heat penetration, increased blood circulation, detox from impurities, and natural exfoliation from sweating should improve the condition and appearance of your skin. With ongoing use, you may see a reduction of wrinkles and other signs of aging, as well as improvement in skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. The infrared radiation (not dangerous) emitted by the blanket can help keep your skin looking healthy and radiant.

Which Sauna Blankets are Best?
I’ve tried a few different home saunas and the blanket I have now is the MiHigh. It’s comfortable, easy-to-use and store (unlike the domes). It’s high-quality material and has no off-gassing like the cheaper metallic versions. You will definitely sweat!
MiHigh also has over 650 reviews averaging 4.9 stars, a lot of those mentioning great customer service.
The price is around $499, which is much less than the cost of a regular infrared sauna (about $3000) or a membership to a spa or gym. There are cheaper products, but the ones I’ve tried have been poorly constructed, harder to clean, and some of them stick to your skin during use like a soggy sleeping bag.
