Always 5 Stars at 1618 Asian Fusion Austin Texas

Duck Delight and Slammin’ Desserts at Austin’s 1618 Asian Fusion

Hey there, fellow food enthusiasts! Looking for a mouthwatering adventure in Austin? Let me point you to our favorite hang — 1618 Asian Fusion. While the food is a little pricey this is still my fam’s #1 choice for special occasions like graduation or birthdays. It’s definitely a high watermark.

We have an adorable Shih Tzu puppy that goes everywhere with us, so outdoor seating is a must and 1618 does not disappoint. With an exciting view of the nightlife traffic and an eclectic lit-up house nestled in the nearby hills, the ambience is off the charts. We always wonder about who is lucky enough to call that house home. There always seems to be a party on their balcony! 1618 has heated lamps when it’s cold and a light mister when it’s warm. Perfect for (almost) all-year outdoor dining.

Now, onto the star of the show—the food.

Starting with Tum Yum Kha soup with flavorful grape tomatoes, chicken, and mushrooms. Showcasing the skill and expertise of their culinary team, the attention to detail and the balance of flavors in this soup are consistently awesome. Fresh and fabulous!

Next stop: Pineapple Fried Rice. The combination of succulent pineapple, fragrant jasmine rice, a medley of vegetables, shrimp or chicken, and spices creates a harmonious blend of sweet, tangy, and savory notes. It’s a true fusion of flavors and it is beautifully served in a pineapple half. To be honest though I always find it easier to eat by asking for a large bowl instead.

Our first time at 1618 we took out the “whole duck” dinner and it was wonderful, but my go-to favorite now is the Filet Mignon Green Curry. It comes with a salad that truly has the best dressing anywhere. Ask for extra rice and there is never quite enough. But the steak will be cooked perfect and the sauce is to die for.

Dessert? Flambé Cheesecake (toasted in rum at the table) for an extravagant ending! Or second choice chocolate eruption with coconut ice cream.

1618 is our first choice for Asian dining in the South Austin area. Safe neighborhood. Free parking in the garage. Great atmosphere, great service, consistently 5-Stars.
